At Akonda’s Business Training Centers, students learn a trade, practice managing money, and study the Bible together. Malawian instructors guide students as they build skills they can use to earn an income, provide for their families, and serve their communities.
What Students Learn
Students learn by doing. Depending on the center, they may learn to sew and alter clothing, weld metal, or provide hair and beauty services.
Practical Trades
Students learn to budget, save, and keep track of what they earn and spend. These skills help them make informed decisions as they start and grow a business.
Money Management
Students read Scripture together and talk about how following Jesus shapes the way they work, treat customers, and serve their neighbors.
